I was wondering about a mesh edit tool in Inkscape

Hi, I am just wondering if there is a mesh edit gradient tool to use in Inkscape? I really enjoy using that tool and I want to know whether there is one in Inkscape. It is very important to the illustrations I do. This tool gives great 3d effects of 2 d items. It is quite specialised.

No, there isn't such tool in inkscape yet.
However, you can achieve almost the same using blurred shapes.
Just draw the shape of a highlight, shadow or whatever you want over the plain drawing, then apply blur to the that shape using the fill dialog.
