help opening inkscape files in illustrator

Asked by jjbmat

Hello, I need help trying to open an inkscape file in illustrator without losing the gradient and keeping the vector graphics separate. Everytime I save it as an eps it groups everything into one image and drops the gradients. If I try to save it as a plain svg it loses the gradient and font. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Adobe Illustrator suport for SVG is rather bad. You'll only be able to import SVG files properly if you don't use alpha transparency, gradients, blurs, masks and clips and if you convert type to paths.
That's Adobe's fault, not Inkscape's.
Try exporting to PDF (using a development version, PDF support in 0.46 is incomplete) or using bitmap copies of the unsupported features along plain vectors.

Can you help with this problem?
