save guides as a template

is there a way of saving guidelines pulled from the X/Y Axis as a template to use in a new document? Thanks for any help, Phil.

When you save a document in the templates folder all the attributes of the document (guidelines, page size, grids, etc.) are stored as a template.
The Templates folder is in your inkscape configuration directory. If you're using linux is pobably in .inkscape in your home folder.
If you're using windows, iirc is somewhere inside the "documents and settings" folder
