Inscape open all documents and pictures in a large size covering a number of screens. Give me instruction to get a default setting of opening documents and files in A4 format or single screen please

You can't open a document in A4 format if it isn't A4 to start with.

To fit the image on a single screen, press the 5 key after the opening it. (I don't think there's a setting to do this automatically.)
