kde 4.6.1 upgrade 64-bit kubuntu problem
This isn't a question as I resolved my problem. I upgraded 4 computers with the kde 4.6.1 release. Both 32-bit versions went without a problem. Both 64-bit versions had the following error (copied from /var/log/term.log):
"Preparing to replace kde-l10n-engb 4:4.6.0-
Unpacking replacement kde-l10n-engb ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/
To overcome the problem, I performed the following:
"root@asrock:~# dpkg --purge kde-l10n-engb
(Reading database ... 302466 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing kde-l10n-engb ...
root@asrock:~# apt-get upgrade

0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
330 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]?"
Remaining packages installed without a problem.
