Edit a file in selected text

Asked by Juan Simón

I'm trying to edit this filename: "~/.config/user-dirs.dirs" with gedit using kupfer but I can't.
kupfer opens another path: "~/~/.config/user-dirs.dirs" that doesn't exist.
It works well if I select ".config/user-dirs.dirs", is this correct or is it a bug?

I'm not sure how you managed to create the nonsense non-existing path that you first tell about, Kupfer doesn't in general allow you to open non-existant files.

It is true that the current implementation understands docs and ./docs and .config and ./.config as the files 'docs' or '.config' in the home directory, without us recognizing ~/docs or ~/.config for the same thing.

Can you help with this problem?
