Kupfer does not start new instances of some programs that are already running

Asked by Matthias Kauer

Hi,
I am trying to understand why kupfer will start a new instance when executing some programs (as I would like) and just bring the program to the foreground in other cases.

For instance:
chromium only comes to the foreground (not the behavior I get when executing from the XFCE start menu)
gvim also only comes to the foreground (unlike from the terminal and unlike from the XFCE start menu)

I know I can get a new instance if I search for the terminal command in kupfer, but there has to be a better way, isn't there?

Best,
Matthias

Hi,
It's depends how applications is created.
If application use some script for launch - in most cases Kupfer don't know is it already running.

If you want launch any application again - simply you can use action "Launch Again" instead of "Launch".

Can you help with this problem?
