How to revert translation changes?

Asked by Philipp Thun

Is it possible to simply revert/undo a translation change that has been done by mistake? In case there is no such mechanism, my follow up question would be, whether it is possible to see the history of all changes done before to be able to copy the original message back.

At the moment it's not yet possible to easily revert translations. We do keep the previous translation in the database, but it's not easily accessible: there are plans to improve this, but nothing has happened yet.

If you know *who* has done a previous translation, the easiest thing might be to look at the "Translation details" page, and then filter for translations done by that user. The previous translation should show up there. Then you can copy it and paste it, and Launchpad will detect that it's the same translation as before and reuse it.

I am sorry that this is not easier than this.
