Add new language, "Chinese (China)" alias "zh-CN"

Asked by Marco Barulli

Hi,
to date I can only see "Chinese (Hong Kong)" that correspond to the ISO code "zh-HK".

Is it possibile to add "Chinese (China)", i.e. ISO code "zh-CN"?

Many thanks,
Marco

There is 'Simplified Chinese': https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/+languages/zh_CN. This used to contrast 'Traditional Chinese' which used to be only zh_TW, but has since been split into zh_TW (Taiwan) and zh_HK (Hong Kong).

Anyway, there's already zh_CN, it's only named differently. Choosing a right name is mostly a political issue instead (we've had some suggestions to call it 'Chinese (Mainland)' as well, to make it comparable to zh_TW and zh_HK).

Dear Danilo,
thanks for your kind and prompt answer.

I didn't notice the Simplified Chinese in the language list before.
(maybe the interface could provide not just the common name, but also the related ISO code for country and language, and allow for sorting)

Thanks again,
Marco
