Delete a team from launchpad.

Asked by Eric Lake

I am the owner of https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-ky and we currently have 27 members. We are wanting to change the team to https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kentucky to follow the naming convention used by the other LoCo teams. The problem is that the ubuntu-kentucky team already exists. The team has no members at this time. I have spoken to the owner of that team and he is fine with the idea.

We would like to do this in such a way that the current members of ubuntu-ky don't have to join / re-join a new team. If we can delete the ubuntu-kentucky team and then rename ubuntu-ky to be ubuntu-kentucky then we are thinking that may do it for us. The current owner of the ubuntu-kentucky team has deactivated their membership and is getting errors trying to reactivate to make me the owner.

Please advise us on how to proceed.

Thank you,

Eric Lake

Hi Eric,

You can ask the ubuntu-kentucky owner to rename his team to something else and
then you can rename your team to ubuntu-kentucky. To rename a team all you
have to do is follow the 'Change Team Details' link on the top left of the
team's home page.
