Upload .pot files (permissions)

Asked by André Klitzing

How can I upload translation templates (.pot) without being the owner of that project?
There is still a "not allowed here" message on upload page even if I'm "driver" and "release manager" for that project.

That doesn't work for me: https://answers.launchpad.net/rosetta/+question/19000

Hi André,

Are we talking about GNOME Music Player Client ?
https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/gmpc

Just a possibility. Do you know if the translations are configured to be automaticaly imported via bzr branch or manualy upload?

Can you point us the link with problems?

In this way the Rosetta developers could take a look at this case and tell you if it's a bug or a feature :)

Cheers,

@Adi Yes it is about gmpc, and they are manually uploaded.

I get a "Forbidden - not allowed here"-message there: https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/gmpc/trunk/+translations-upload. Also I can't see any upload button on https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/gmpc/trunk/

No, a driver does not have permissions for that.

In genral it is a good idea to have a project be owned by a team, not a single person. Create a team called "GMPC Developers" and make youself and Qball Cow members of that team. Probably Qball Cow should be an admin of the team, too. Then have Qball Cow set that team as the owner of the project.

After that you'll have persmissions to upload templates. Please remember to read the relevant help pages.
