Package updated to new version, however apt finds only the old version

Asked by Ishan Surana

I had created and uploaded a basic package, and tested by installing it. However, I found some errors so I fixed them and updated the package to a new version (1.0 -> 1.0.1). I made the changelog in the required way and uploaded to Launchapd, where it built successfully (.deb, tar.gz and .dsc files). However, there is a note saying:
" Note: Some binary packages for this source are not yet published in the repository."
Moreover, even when I update apt and apt-get, I still get the old version of my package. Even on removing and adding my PPA back again, I still get the old version (1.0). How do I fix this?

Hi Ishan, you will have to wait for publishing to complete for packages to be available. Please wait for binaries to be published and then try again.

It would be help if you can link the relevant PPA and packages as well.

Ah. Does the publishing not happen immediately as build completes? I am new to Launchpad, so I was not aware.
However, I do now have another seperate issue. Should I ask here or create a new query?
Thank you

Yes, you can go to your PPA and click on "View Package Details" to see the publishing status. Please create another query for the separate issue. Thanks!
