An error occurred while trying to intall a package from the Synaptic Package Manager

The message that you see is just a warning and should not stop further processing of the package management system.

You can access the terminal by selecting it from menus or by using the dash window for searching, or you just simultaneously press the ctrl-alt-t keys.

Then copy and paste one line of the commands after the other into the terminal window, provide your password when asked for it (note: there will not be any feedback when typing the password, not even '*' placeholders), and finally select all output from within the terminal window and paste it back into this question document that we can see.

I opened the terminal. I could not copy the commands. I opened both
windows and typed the commands in to the terminal window. I got an error
message. I tried again and again. I got a different error message every
time. There is too much to try to copy

Why can't you copy/paste the commands and the results?
Open your Launchpad question document https://answers.launchpad.net/lubuntu-software-center/+question/658591 and a terminal window at the same time.
Mark one line from the commands in the Launchpad document with your mouse that it is shown in reverse color, click the right mouse button and select "copy" in the pop-up.
Switch to the terminal window, press the right mouse button and select "paste" in the pop-up.
Press enter to execute the command if necessary.
And so on with all commands.
Finally use the terminal window's menu entries "edit - select all" and "edit - copy" to copy all output and paste into this question document that we can see.

Do you refer to messages like
"W : Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/var/cache/apt/archives/partial/libapt-pkg5.0_1.4.6~17.04.1_i386deb' couldn't be accessed by user'_apt'. pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)"

This is not an _error_ but only a _warning_ message (letter "W" at the beginning), that does not prevent an installation or package upgrade from functioning. You can safely ignore it.

How did you install these? I am not aware that they are available in the standard Ubuntu repositories.

What is the output of the commands

dpkg -l | grep bluegriffin
dpkg -l | grep seamonkey

I clicked on Start, System Tools, Synaptic Package Manager. HTML editor and
Internet Browser. I found Blue Griffin and Sea Monkey. with the package
high lighted I clicked on Mark all upgrages and apply, A process started
ending with a message saying Your package is installed. Then the warning
message appeared.

Your output does not indicate that you have installed seamonkey with the help of one of the package management programs (including synaptic). For bluegriffin the output of the related command is missing, so I cannot judge.
