Magento OpenERP Connector

Changing SKU

I noticed that the connector when synchronizing products adds the product_id to the SKU on both Magento and Openerp. Is this strictly needed to match the products?
It highly unwanted that SKU's used to identify products in stock are being changed. Matching just by SKU should be sufficient because Magento has unique SKU's.

I see in the product pages that the tab Magento Information is still blank. Is that where the meta data, images will be?

Yes,

We are temporarily reworking the connector because we are designing a base_external_referentials module which should take care of external communications & mappings from openerp to any other system.

Your suggestion is accepted and we would be using the same skus in both magento & open erp.

The Magento Information page is blank because we have temporarily stopped the work there, however the page would be filled with a notebook & pages (tabs) just as in magento with the extra pages for attribute etc.
