Feed-Panel: Display rss/atom feeds in tab

Asked by kenneth.h

When clicking on rss/atom feed it would be nice if the feed-panel was called on to display the rss/atom feed rather then showing the source. When I click on a link to a webpage I'm not shown the source but the hyper-text markup, clicking on sites that use php, js, flash, etc all show as they are meant to appear rather then showing the source so I think it would be nice if midori extension developers treated rss/atom as they do other web protocol standards. Even if it is displayed like it does now but in the *tab* without the need to subscribe to view.

Can this be considered or even the idea improved, discussed/debated upon ?

Thanks!

Yes, it sounds like a sensible enhancement to me. It would be possible for the extension to hook up to page loads and render news feeds instead of letting them show in raw form.

Unfortunately there is at the moment no actively developer who is looking into this extension. But by all means, file a feature request.
