Gnash as default player in Midori

Asked by 2blue

Is it possible to set Gnash Shock Wave player as default in Midori? Adobe flash is not an option for powerpc but for some odd reason I have discovered Gnash streams well in Midori. There are numerous problems for powerpc browser plugin packages needing debugging, but this should work in Midori I think. Some youtube videos stream clear and fine, others revert to html5 for no reason I can find (I am not in the test trial). I cannot figure out which browser plugin package is involved with midori, but have the general Gnash browser package.

I have been doing some searching and testing to find media players that can stream in Midori on powerpc, and I am still searching the options.

Whether YouTube uses Flash or not is not up to Midori. What you can try is setting GST_PLUGIN_SYSTEM_PATH to an empty or invalid folder, to intentionally break HTML5 video support.
