How to see the Music app controls when screen is locked

Asked by Yuri

On Ubuntu touch, is there a way to see the Music app control when the screen is locked while the app is running ? If I want to skip the current song, pause or start the app, I have to unlock the screen by entring my PIN.

An option allowing to access to the main controls (Play/Pause, Next, Previous) will be appreciated, as well as an option allowing to see the current song information (title, artist, album name, may be duration) and the associated picture.

Hi Yuri! This is not possible at the moment. There was an attempt to put controls within the Sound Indicator menu, but there was a deficiency in that the system wasn't able to know which the next or previous song was. The issue with the platform (really the media-hub) not knowing what the next/previous tracks are, should be fixed fairly soon. After this is done, I assume we'll revisit adding controls to the sound indicator menu.

So in short, no it is not yet possible, but it should be at some point. This functionality will be needed on the desktop as well once Unity8 is the default.
