Netflix desktop install failure

Asked by Jon Brito

So I am running a 32bit Ubuntu 12.04. I have followed all the steps, and after trying to install Netflix I get the following error:

The following packages have unmet dependiecies:
netflix-desktop : Depends: wine-browser-installer (= 0.8.5~precise) but it is not going to be installed
Depends : wine-silverlight5.1 -installer but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I have tried just sudo apt-get install wine-browser-installer but get:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
wine-browser installer : Depends: ttf-mscorefonts-installer but it is not installable

Tried sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer but I only get an error letting me know its no installation canidate.

I am kindve stuck here and any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jon, the ttf-mscorefonts-installe packge is (unfortunately) in the "multiverse" repository. Please follow these directions to enable this repository:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/89096/how-do-i-enable-the-multiverse-repository

Eventually adding this repo will not be necessary. The reason it's necessary now is that several Silverlight services require specific fonts that Wine does not provide by default, once substitutes for these fonts are provided as part of Wine then this will no longer be an issue.

Can you help with this problem?
