Multiple volume group in nova-volume

Asked by JuanFra Rodriguez Cardoso

Hi!

Could nova-volume work with multiple volume groups? I know it's necessary to create the 'nova-volumes' group but I'd like to create another volume-group.

Thanks.

Regards, Juan F.

it currently only works with one volume group. You could create a new driver that could allow for multiple groups. Is there a reason why you want more than one?

Ok. No problem.

I want to create a local redundandy system between two instances.

Thanks for you answer.

One reasonable use case is to be able to use 2 different kinds of disks - SSD and HDD, having a single volume group over mix of disks makes no sense.
