Xorg 1.7.7 and driver nextwindow_drv.so

If I understand correctly now the xorg driver used is not evdev but nextwindow. Is this right?

My problem is that nextwindow_drv.so has been compiled for xorg 1.9.0 (as in Xorg log) but I have 1.7.7.
I am running debian unstable, if I install xorg 1.9.3 from experimental repository, it will work or not?

If not, how could I compile the driver? I don't see sources. Is it a closed source driver?

nextwindow_drv.so is pretty simple the main thing it does is to provide aid to touchscreens in providing right-click support. I am trying to get the source open but haven't got the permissions yet.

If you install xorg 1.9.3 I am pretty sure it will work yes.

I have installed with xorg 1.9.4 and it seems to work.

Where can I put nwfermi.conf in debian? no /etc/init but /etc/init.d (no *.conf files inside!) or /etc/modprobe.d

nwfermi.conf is an Upstart configuration file. It is my understanding that Debian uses SysVinit instead of Upstart.

The purpose of nwfermi.conf is to make sure that nwfermi_daemon is triggered by udev after the local filesystems have initialised (this was to fix a bug where nwfermi_daemon would not start at boot), I am not sure whether a similar mechanism is needed on Debian.
