openERP in Google's cloud sql

Asked by Tony Turner

I am in the process of experimenting with OpenERP Server on Google's cloud sql. I would enjoy discussing this project with anyone else who's interested in this topic. Do you know of anyone here in launchpad that might be interested? Thanks, Tony

If the "cloud sql" is not a Postgresql instance, I would advise you not to
waste your time on that.
One other important detail: verify that your company's policy of data
retention is compatible with Google's terms of service.

There are references to a version of OpenERP that will work with other databases than Postgresql. Do you have a sense as to when a MySQL compatible version would be available, even in Beta status?

I think that was abandoned by OpenERP SA, and it seems not many users care about it for now. It would make everything more complicated for a too small benefit in my opinion.
