How do I crop the video size

Asked by jonOpenShot

For example I have a sequence sized at 1280X960 but I want to output it at 1280X720 by cropping it not squeezing it. Can it do that?

We don't have a "crop" filter yet, but there is a work-around. You can use the clip properties / layout tab, to zoom in the clip and position the clip, where you only see the area you want. Just be sure the set both the "Start" and "End" key-frames to the same value, or it will animate the zoom. Thanks!

When I try to crop using Clip Properties--> Layout, it always seems to scale the image. Can you give a specific example?

Can you help with this problem?
