Can't add anything to timeline

Asked by cipacuauhtli

I have Ubunut Karmik, and installed OpenShot to try it out. But when I tried to add something to the timeline it just doesn't work!! I drag the files from the box on the left corner (where files reside right after importing them to openshot) to the timeline and the only thing that happens is that a bubble with a plus sign in it moves along the mouse cursor. I reach the timeline and expect to see the bubble change to my video or music file, but nothing happens, I release the mouse button and the only thing I see is the animation of the bubble going back to where I started dragging.

Help!!! Please :D

What type of file are you using? Have you tried a few different types
of files, such as images, sound files, videos, etc... Also, can you
try running openshot from the terminal:
$ openshot

It might have an error message that would be helpful.

Thanks,

this sounds very similar to my agenda, but openshot was working perfectly all day until i tried to edit the length of time on the picture somehow and since then it has been having the same issue. the picture clip was of a cd cover and i have used the same pic for other vids its time was 5 seconds in length and i tried to edit the time so that i wouldn't have to keep on dragging and dropping the same 5 second pic a hundred times to cover the length of the song.

Can you help with this problem?
