Change name...

Asked by Daniel Holm

Hi,

To change the nickname you wish to use when you submit your cpuwork, is it only to edit the client.cfg file in the folding-0.5 dir that you ran sudo ./folding.sh --install from? Or is there another file to edit for this option?

Best regards
Daniel Holm, Sweden.

If you would like to change the username that your work is reported as you will need to change it in:

/var/folding/foldingathome/

within this folder there may be a directory representing each processor available and, if I remember correctly, this should also contain a client.cfg. It is within this file that you'd want to change the name. (I don't have it installed on this machine currently so this is from memory)

In thinking about a better resolution to this question I will be releasing a .1 patch that will allow setting the username at installation. I hope this will be helpful to more users.

That would be great. Really something users would like.
