Qimo installation problem

Asked by plapla

I have a problem trying to install Qimo on old Compaq Presario 1200 notebook.
Considering the previous Question #97714 and Question #95791, I think that my problem is related to not having enough memory.
I can not upgrade the memory and moreover I have not a direct internet connection on the Compaq Presario 1200 notebook.
My idea is to try to use the Ubuntu 9.04 alternate cd with the text-mode installer, then download the qimo-desktop from PPA https://launchpad.net/~mhall119/+archive/ppa using another PC, and finally to copy the PPA to the Compaq Presario 1200 notebook.
Do you think it is possible to install the PPA on the Compaq Presario 1200 notebook without having a direct internet connection?
Do you have some advise in order to resolve all the dependency of the PPA?

Thank you and Reagrds
Paolo

You will need more than just the qimo-desktop package, it has several dependencies that need to be downloaded and installed too. I recommend you use Keryx to do this, as it will find all of the dependencies for you.
