Qimo install on upgraded Ubuntu

Asked by Looking4Qimo

I'm suffering from "lack of Internet" with the Qimo install, which makes updating extremely painful. So, I'm hopeful that we can install Qimo on top of a separate (newer) installation of Ubuntu (or Xubuntu). Ideally the answer would teach us how to accomplish this task, for someone with a moderate amount of computer knowledge.

Can you please precisely define what you are trying to do?

You can install Xubuntu 9.04 and add the packages from my ppa here: https://launchpad.net/~mhall119/+archive/ppa

I don't currently have packages for 9.10, due to changes in XFCE, GDM and XSplash.

Of course, you can always install the games yourself, and the Qimo artwork is available for download here: http://qimo4kids.com/page/Download.aspx#artwork

Can you help with this problem?
