Syncany's architecture is based around encryption and deduplication. Even if you'd switch off encryption, you wouldn't be able do anything with the files: You would still see lots of chunks in the storage:

- chunk-00123...
- chunk-00124..

This method is good because:
- it saves storage space (and therefore money on paid storage such as Amazon S3)
- there is no max. file size limitation on the storage (because files are broken into pieces)

I also think the method is good for the intended use case. I just wanted to know if I could also use Synchany for my special use case. Thanks for answering this.
