Feedback on the Dell Inspiron 7520

Asked by slyblade900

Hi, I am using Dell inspiron 7520. It is certified for Ubuntu 12.04.1. It lists the graphic card as supported. My question is by default what card is being used when I install Ubuntu 12.04.1? Will I have to download the graphic card driver for AMD or is it already installed? I have switchable graphics (As part of the system, also listed on the certification page). I'd like to have the ability to switch between AMD graphics and Intel graphics with ease. The windows graphic driver from AMD does this switch seamlessly on windows.

Hi, I've passed your question along to a couple of our certification engineers who have access to that system. I hope they'll be able to answer your questions shortly.

I'm sorry but there is no easy way[0] to switch between graphic chipsets seemlessly at this moment.

Besides this system is currently certified with intel integrated graphic chipset by default.

You may want to try out the official amd beta driver[1], although it may not the case you want.

Hope this help.
