Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Generation - Yoda2
I purchased a X1C6 recently (Intel® UHD Graphics 620 graphics) and have major issues getting HDMI output working. I've used it with 16.04 and 17.10 and both versions exhibit the problem.
Connecting to an external display via HDMI results in extremely poor video performance on the external display. I tried to watch a movie last night and the jitter made the movie unbearable.
Connecting via HDMI will sometimes just not work at all. Sometimes it will black out the entire display and disconnect all user input (eg mouse/keyboard no longer work) and the only way to salvage is to hard reboot the laptop. Sometimes it does not detect the external display and refuse to output to it, requiring re-plugging-in.
If you have an external display and shut down the laptop or "suspend" the laptop, the external display will not be connected, and will require unplugging/
These issues are serious enough that I am planning on returning or selling the laptop.
