Can I use this on OSX / Windows?

Asked by Mikko Ohtamaa

I am big fan of Ubuntu Linux. However, now and then I need to dive into OSX to prepare presentations in Keynote - OpenOffice is just too inefficient for me.

Can I download and install Ubuntu font family on other platforms? Are TTF files available somewhere?

In-case the external link becomes broken, the page instructs one to head over to http://font.ubuntu.com/ and download an archive containing the fonts on line β. They recommend choosing the zip archive.

Just to follow-on from Matt's answer. The .zip contains the actual fonts you'll want to use. The .tar.gz tarball is source code; it contains many files ending '.ttf' which are combined to produce the final font. Individually they are pretty useless as which only contains part of the final font, and will cause problems if installed.
