looking for a program that will support a sony ericsson disk to allow usb connection to the computer

i need to find a support thing that will allow the disk i got with my new sony ericsson w610 to get onto the computer cause when i put it in it tells me that it is not supported

I assume you mean the CD with additional software and drivers that came with your phone. This CD is most likely only for Windows and contains software which will only work on Windows. You might be able to use Wine to run the software on Ubuntu, but this might not always work.

If you simply need to transfer files from your phone to your computer, check whether your phone has a USB Mass Storage option. If it does, turn it on. Then you can plug the phone into your computer using a USB cable, and it will show up as a disk drive under Ubuntu.
