Need to convert AVI or MPG files to WMV

Asked by Ian Sinclair

I have a netpad running Windows CE-6 with a Media player that accepts only WMV files. All the files on my Linux desktop are AVI or MPG. Is there any converter that will run under Linux (the netbook has embedded Windows and ARM processor so that it will not accept any other software).

If you are looking for an Open Source alternative to above suggestions:

WinFF (the GUI frontend to ffmpeg, available in Ubuntu repo) has WMV as an available "Convert To ..." with a number of Presets as well.

Best of luck,
George

Brilliant, George. Last time I trawled for WinFF I could not find it, and Google enquiries made no mention.

Thank you again,

Ian

Thanks, Kim, but I found WinFF thanks to George Standish, and it
answered my problem.

Ian
