Asked by Rod Hutchinson

On the download site for Ubuntu 10.04 it does not recommend using the 64 bit version for everyday use. Why?

Yes, you can be confronted to a few problems (drivers, flash) when using 64-bits, but, for the most part, everything works flawlessly. At least if you are an average to technical user.

Thanks to all who answered my query. Better or worse support is not an issue, I have developers who work for me, if I have a problem, they will start writing code ;) I have already run OpenSuse 64 bit and was very satisfied with how it worked. I am looking at Ubuntu, because a new client uses it to work on its network sensors, and I have to teach an entry course, so I will be learning the intricacies of Ubuntu as soon as possible.

Thanks again.
