Hi,

It seems that pendrivelinux.com is only for creating live USB and not installing to USB.

The technique I use with a desktop (and that I read somewhere else) is:

1) disconnect the internal drives
2) boot the computer with a live CD
3) proceed to the installation after having plugged in the USB drive or key. That USB drive will be the only hard disk found, so no risk of errors when installing Grub (by default it installs to the first internal hard drive hd0/sda)

Iy you install from a laptop, you should be more careful when doing a full installation : at the last step, you need to click on "advanbced..." button and select the proper place for the grub installation. I did have some issues with this grub problems when doing full install of Ubuntu to USB drives recently.

Hope that helps
