WLAN in Ubuntu 7.0.4 on HP dv8220

Asked by maverick52882

I have been having issues getting my WLAN to work in Ubuntu 7.0.4 on an HP dv8220 with a Broadcom Wireless Card. Ubuntu recognizes the WLAN card natively with Broadcom 43xx drivers, but Ubuntu shows no wireless networks available. When I run the tests to see if the wireless is available, it reports back that the card is disabled, even though the card is enabled in Ubuntu's GUI Network Interface. Is there a known solution to this issue, or has anyone figured out a fix to make this work? Any help would be appreciated.

I would advise to use ndiswrapper. It works like a charm on my dv5020.
