There are some tools to charge and sync blackberries. For example, bcharge part of the 'barry' project-- http://sourceforge.net/projects/barry/ .
That might be a good starting place. I haven't used it, but there is also a sync utility being developed in the same project. If there is particular functionality you are looking for, you might specify further.

I'll play around with the "barry" and see how well it works...sounds like it's exactly what I'm after, though!

Wire_Transfer,

I just got a BlackBerry recently ,and I tried D/L barry but there was a long list of things to choose from on the D/L page, and I'm not sure which one to pick. I have the latest version on Ubuntu, and I have a BlackBerry storm.

Hi,

I haven't tested this with a BB storm, but it shouldn't be difficult to try it out.
Under Ubuntu 9.04, the various barry packages are in the repositories.

Here's are some relevant packages under apt [ from ` apt-cache search barry ` ] from 9.04 :

barry-util - Command line utilities for working with the RIM BlackBerry Handheld
barrybackup-gui - GTK+ based GUI for backing up the RIM BlackBerry Handheld
opensync-plugin-barry - Opensync Blackberry plugin, based on the Barry project

You'd do something like
sudo apt-get install barry-util

What's your environment (and did you need syncing, charging, etc, or everything possible)?

If you don't have 9.04, you certainly could use the sourceforge versions. The package you pick is going to be dependent on your OS version and CPU architecture (32-bit vs. 64). It looks like you'd probably want either or both barrybackup-gui and barry-util.
So, from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=153722&package_id=170564 you might select (depending on your OS environment), for example, barrybackup-gui_0.14-0_i386.deb .

Let me know if you have problems, and if so, let me know what you're using and what you need.

Thanks.
