internet links via evolution not working

the connection to web sites via my email program do not work when i click on them the text turns red the same goes for using thunderbird email program

Do you have a valid web browser (i.e. Firefox) set up on "System" -> "Preferences" -> "Preferred Applications" and the first options of that dialog selected ("Open link with web browser default")?
