Upgraded to 7.10 from 7.04 now won't mount my USB external drives

I have to external USB drives that worked fine with 7.04 and now won't mount under 7.10

The drives are recognised by the system as available but wont allow access.

Please help.

I'm new to UBUNTU.

Can you try the following:-

Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal

In the terminal type this command:-

sudo rmmod ehci_hcd

This "unloads" the USB2 driver.
