Laptop hibernates when unplugged

Asked by helraizr

Just installed Gutsy on my Gateway MX8711 , Everything's great as long as the AC is connected. once unplugged, the screen goes black. Im assuming it's hibernate. In power managment i set everything to "do nothing" to help solve the issue, but it did nothing. Any ideas?

There may be some problem in the way your battery is reporting used charge to the system.
Workaround: Go to System -> Preferences -> Power Management
In "Using Battery" tab, there is a option for what to do when your battery is low. Change it from "Suspend" or "Hibernate" to "Nothing".

Can you help with this problem?
