Hello I use Radeon x600 at Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibon, and I think they support it..
I hope that helps you.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suppose that the chipsets are basically
the same (with respect to the xXXX, xXXXX, etc). The reason I ask is because
I have Fedora 7 on a machine with an x1300 card and so far all attempts to
get proper resolution have failed. I haven't used Ubuntu before but I've
only heard great things about it as far as hardware support and reliability
go.

I guess I could just make a 10 gig part and see what happens =D.

Do yourself a favor and check it out first with the liveCD.
Chances are that the gutsy xorg module will not play it well with your X800; in that case try the proprietary one.

Can you help with this problem?
