what does WIP stand for?

Asked by Vernic

I found a word WIP in this release (1.39+1.40-WIP-2006.11.14+dfsg-2ubuntu1).
Can anyone tell me what does WIP stand for?
I found few: work in progress, wireless industrii partnership, with in game picture;
but I'm not sure which one or maybe there's another meaning.

Thanking you in advance.

Vernic,

WIP is a common acronym for "Work In Progress." The developers of e2fsprogs and libs commonly add WIP in their version naming scheme to indicate a release that is still in testing with WIP.

Hope that helps.
