Movie player only plays one track of music CD

Asked by Pirate

I'm using Xbuntu 7.10 on a Dell C610. Movie Player only plays one track of my audio cds. Is there a fix? I really like the "skinny" less top-heavy apps, and my space is limited on my hard drive.

hello,
you can click 'add' after you open the sidebar...and add the file you want to your playlist..

Thank you for responding. I'm afraid that didn't work. I was presented with no list of audio files to choose from. That seems like it should work, though. Could it be because I did not create a playlist first? I just inserted the CD and it autoplayed.
Thank you again for your prompt reply, though! I'm sure it's because I'm new at this Linux system.

Movie player only plays one track when I insert a music cd. It automatically plays the track when I insert the cd, which is okay, but it only plays the first track. I was previously advised to click "Add" and add more tracks to the playlist, but I tried that and was presented with no list of files from which to choose. Any advice?

Dear Pirate,
If your music cd in 'Audio Cd' format so I prefer to you to install 'Sound Juicer CD Extractor'.
you can find it from Applications --> Add/Remove --> search for Sound Juicer...Mark on it and click on apply changes.
If you want to add playlist in Movie player click 'add' and search under 'Places' for 'Media' ---> 'Cdrom'
hope this help....

Thank you! I downloaded Sound Juicer and was able to play all or selected tracks directly from it. I still am not able to access any playlists from Movie Player, but that's okay. Sound Juicer works great.
