can't configure wine

try running the installation file it should create those directories

"The specified windows directory "C: \\windows" is not accessible.
the specified system directory "c:\\windows\\system32" is not accessible."

→ go to your home directory and then View → Show hidden files (or Ctrl+H) → open folder .wine → drive_c and look there if there is folder windows - if not then is your wine installation corrupted and you have to reinstall it...

Wine does not create any station directories, as Shane suggested. I tried to do what Vojtêch suggested and it looks like my wine installation is corrupted indeed. Unfortunately I don't know enough about Linux to repair the damage.

Just remove it and install again...

Removing and reinstalling wine does not solve the problem.My kwowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) is not good enough to try anything else. (Changed from windows to Linux only two months ago). Anyway thanks for your efforts to try and help me. Cornelis.

And in your home folder - is there directory .wine (it's hidden so you have to use 'Show Hidden Files' as I wrote) or not? If yes try to delete it completely and reboot.

Yes there is a .wine folder in my home directory. I tried to delete it, but did not succeed, because I don't know how to do it.

→ right click on this folder → Move to Trash

Can"t delete or remove wine from the home directory. thanks for your help.

I followed your advise, don't know what happened, but all of a sudden wine worked and I could install my windows program and everything functions like it should. In other words, you solved my ploblem. Thank you.Cornelis.
