Ubuntu terminal, problem.

Asked by Paul Meeks

The terminal in Ubuntu on 14.04 lts has a fault: When I use sudo and a command, it will ask for my pswd. (But) it will not let me type ? and in the help docs, nothing seems to be accurate. Is there any bugs on this that you all know, is there a fix ? Because I need this (Terminal to do work.) Help the fool ;)

For security reasons...imagine somebody was looking over your shoulder...the Terminal does not show your password when you type it.

Just type your password and hit Enter/Return

You can use gksudo if you want a GUI version. It works with terminal applications too. It will give feedback. Sudo (as stated) does not give any feedback as you type.
