Its nothing to do with BASH or any coding, or any OS. Its the thing that the system loads when it first boots.

Does the Ethernet port on your computer have LED indicators?
Are they lighting up / blinking as before when the network was working?

What is the output of the commands (to be executed ion a terminal window):

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
ifconfig -a
sudo lshw -C network

I cannot find anything wrong in the output that you provided.
What kind of device is at the other end of your Ethernet cable (router, modem etc.)?
Have you verified whether that device is correctly working?
Can you try using a different port of that device?
Do you have a spare cable that you can try instead of the one that you are currently using?

Hello Sir

I am using ADSL 2 type modem.
That modem working fine because it has ethernet as well as wi-fi connection. Wi-fi connection on same device is working flawlessly.
The device have totally 4 ethernet ports. I have already tried to connect the cable at each out of them. Still ethernet is not working. I have also used another ethernet cable, which was working fine in my office. However it is not working with my laptop at home.
I have done with all these alternative. Still problem persist. Is there any issue regarding driver setting.
Provide me solution.

Regards.

Your output
"Ethernet port on my laptop have Green and Yellow LED Indicator. However only green LED indicator continuously run. Yellow indicator runs only at the time of ethernet cable attempts to connect the internet."
points more into the direction of a problem outside sour computer, that wrong driver settings.

What happens to the indicators on your computer's network port, if you unplug the cable from your computer, wait 20 seconds and re-plug the cable,
And similar, what happens to the indicators on your computer if you unplug the cable on the modem side, wait 20 seconds and re-plug it?

Respected Sir

I really appreciate your valuable help

As suggested by you I tried to plug and unplug ethernet cable at the end of my laptop. Green light continuously goes on. However yellow light keeps on blink on interval as the attempts goes for connecting to internet. When I unplug my ethernet cable, both green and yellow lights turns off.

Same happens when I try to connect the ethernet cable at the modem end.

That's all. Please support me further.

Regards.

In my opinion the yellow blinking light indicates that the computer is trying to contact the ADSL modem, and that on computer side everything is ready for connection.

Does the ADSL modem offer a possibility to check its functions?
Maybe you can try restarting it?

Hello Sir

I tested the setting of my modem. Therein in device status in interface setup, physical ports were disabled. I enabled those again and now my ethernet connection works fine.

Thank you very much for assistance. I will always anticipate the co-operation of all contributors of launchpad forum.
Thank you all.
