how can i know about hdd temperature

in xp i have used Hdd temperature software to monitor my hdd temperature,but in ubuntu i dont know whether its hot or cool.can u suggest some application.

Hi ajmal,

Try the following applications. You will need to run this command from the Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal)

  sudo apt-get install hddtemp lm-sensors

After you run this type 'sensors-detect' and press enter. You can then add a sensors applet to your gnome task bar to monitor the temp of your HDDs.
