Flash on Ubuntu

I am sick of trying to install this stupid flash onto my computer.
- I have Ubuntu 8.04 on a amd64 processor
- I am running Firefox 3 Beta 5
I need step-by-step instructions to not only download it but to install it.

If anyone can help that would be much appreciated!

hello,
open synaptic package manager.
System--->Administration--->Synaptic Package Manager

search for "flashplugin-nonfree", mark it for installation,and click "Apply"
