Olympus MAUSB-10 CARD READER

Asked by cigtoxdoc

Under 8.04 LTS, USB thumb drives work fine. However, my Olympus MAUSB-10 card reader (xD card, for example) is NOT recognized. Drive works fine under MS WINDOWS XP, 98, etc. I am not a computer professional. Other USB devices work normally.

Seems to suggest in the comments that it was supported quite a while ago.
Maybe try

sudo apt-get install usbmount

And once that's complete plug the device in.

Even though I thought usbmount was already installed since a Kingston USB thumb drive was working just fine, I did try to run sudo apt-get install usbmount. That, of course, did not do anything as the latest version of USB mount was already there.

Thank you, Tony, for your suggestion.

Looks like my question is still unanswered.

Can you run lsusb
and paste the results in here so we can see how the device is being recognised?

Can you help with this problem?
