No internet connection

You should close this one as there's more information in#34122.

Since your duplicate post was closed (even though it had more information in it!!) lets continue with this one.

Open up a "terminal" window and run

sudo apt-get install pppconfig

then try clicking or right-clicking the networking icon in the top right of the screen and choose the manual configuration.
(Bit rusty here as it's all from memory)

Sorry but It is not working.
I also did a scanning and I installed ediadsl .deb, but it is not working.
Please What shall I do now ??

I've installed Ubuntu 8.04 and everything is fine. The only problem seems to be internet connection.
I can't connected !! how can I do about it ?? please help !!

I have a ROUTER Telit AR520.
I have internet connection right now because I am using Windows vista on the same computer. But it doesnt work in ubuntu.

There's usually a driver required but if you are lucky it would be detected.

If it is just an Ethernet ADSL modem/router then Ubuntu would not need any drivers installed to talk to it.

ok can you open a terminal window (applications, Accessories menu) and post the results of

(with modem attached)
lsusb

sudo apt-get install pppconfig pppoeconf

Then try to run
sudo pppoeconf
