Hardy Heron does not boot

Hi,

I have a NVidia Quadro NVS 280 SD with AGP8X Graphics card (64MB VRAM). Recently installed 'nvidia-glx' in Ubuntu 8.04 for advanced desktop effects. But my screen resolution doesn't go above 640x480 whereas my monitor support 1024x768 at 60MHz. Please help me with this problem. Did search for similar problems but couldn't solve my problem.

Try to boot in safe mode and run xfix.

But if I run xfix Advanced desktop effects do not work. I have tried that.

No problem i made a manual xorg.conf
